ARTESORIO 147

Artesorio 147 is a project born in 2019, developed in a former textile factory located in the l’Habana area of Mataró (Catalonia).

On one hand, Artesorio 147 is a multipurpose space made up of different rooms suitable for a wide range of activities: performing arts rehearsals and creations, creative process showings, occasional training workshops, conferences, talks, seminars, and private or corporate events. It is a space that hosts artistic projects, adapting to their needs, and is designed to be transformed and reshaped.

On the other hand, Artesorio 147 is dedicated to the production of shows, bringing together professionals from the sector—from creation to production and dissemination.

Our Values:
Freedom – Creativity – Innovation

Our Mission:
To facilitate – To stimulate

I was born in 1982 in Sanremo (Italy), the city of flowers.
During my adolescence, I studied geometry, international politics, and various sports.
I graduated from university with a thesis on circus and cultural anthropology, and through this I realized that diplomacy and politics were not my path.

I began traveling through Europe in a 1976 van, driving at about 80 km/h, in search of information and circus training.
My circus education was mainly self-taught, complemented by intensive workshops in places such as Espace Catastrophe, ESAC Brussels, and the Moscow Circus School.
I tried to enter circus schools in France and Belgium but didn’t succeed.

My disciplines evolved from partner acrobatics to hand balancing, later expanding into object manipulation and physical theatre.

In 2009, I met Rubén Río in Santander, and that’s where our artistic collaboration began—first with the association La Hoja Roja and now with the company El Cruce.
I lived for six years in this beautiful Cantabrian city, surrounded by rain, solitude, cows, and endless greenery. There, I developed my approach to circus, my vision of art, and my professional role in the artistic creation process, both individually and within collectives.

In 2015, I discovered Barcelona, and it inspired me to make a change. I left behind the cows and the green, and moved to this vibrant seaside city with my cat.
Since 2015, I have dedicated myself to creating the show Punto y Coma together with Rubén. The show premiered in 2016 and is currently touring internationally, bringing me great joy and satisfaction.

I have continuously pursued my artistic training, and this journey led me to meet Jérôme Thomas. Since 2017, I have collaborated in two productions with his company, ARMO.

In 2018, together with Ivan Tomasevic, I started the project Artesorio 147—a rehearsal and creation space for the performing arts in Mataró (Catalonia).

Born in 1977 in Santiago de Chile, under Pinochet’s dictatorship.
A restless experimenter since childhood.
At 14, with my first paycheck, I bought my first electric bass.

After spending a few years somewhat lost in the academic halls of the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Chile, I discovered juggling, acrobatics, and various performance acts.

My first company was a summer tour, searching for town squares to present our street circus show. This led me to study theatre at a small school in the foothills of Chile’s Central Valley: La Mancha – International School of Gesture and Image.
Two very intense years under the Jacques Lecoq method.

With some classmates, we formed a small theatre group and moved to Valparaíso, the main port city. It didn’t go so well...
Back in the capital, I co-directed a show with a young company, Ciklos, Organismo Teatral. The result was very positive.
This project kept us active as a group for 7 years, during which we created two more shows, organized two independent festivals of theatre, circus and music, and developed exchanges with national and international companies.

At the same time, I continued performing as a juggler, musician, clown, and working as a lighting designer for dance, circus, and whatever came my way.

Life eventually brought me to Europe, where I had to rebuild everything once again.
For my friend Karl Stets, I designed the lighting for his show Cuerdo, touring with it for six years across Europe, Asia, and South America.
I also created lighting designs for Manolo Alcántara, Dulce Duca, Sugar, Amer i Africa, Cacophonic Pictures, Otradnoie, Brunette Bros, and Colectivo Lacam.

Juggling led me to perform at the Folketeatret in Copenhagen.
In 2009, I bought a double bass.
In constant reinvention, I discovered puppetry and, together with other artists, created Naked Puppets Peep Show—a multidisciplinary adventure featuring puppet acts, musical numbers, diverse performances, and even an interactive labyrinth of automata and immersive environments.

Today, I move between the double bass, theatres, the workshop, my partner, and juggling—always searching for the perfect alchemy to captivate and inspire audiences of all kinds.
